To be a good programmer, you must have five hearts: modesty, prudence, patience, a sense of responsibility and gratitude. No need for explanations, everyone understands that with these five cores, you can do a lot of things well, but can’t you really become a master in programming?

Many people wonder: does a programming master need ten or eight years of experience? Otherwise, what makes a true programming master? Today I will talk about my personal opinions on this issue and, by the way, I will also summarize some of my years of programming work and teaching experience.

First, recognize a problem, which is that the length of time a person has worked in an industry is not equal to their personal level. Because there are many people who have been hanging around at work, or working mechanically, for ten or eight years, and the results are still the same as before. On the other hand, if you work hard, your level will surpass that of a person with ten or eight years of experience within one or two years.

What does it take to be considered a master in programming?

The highest domain of a programming master is to use the simplest tool path and fastest processing speed to complete the tasks that satisfy customers the most.

Simplicity means simplicity and taste. This taste is embodied in understanding the details of programming. Every little part must be carefully considered. The toolpath is simple and practical, not too sophisticated and based on the real situation. For example, consider the work of the machine operator, the mold structure, the clamping, the electric spark, the direction, the economy of the mold and the flight of the mold, the smoothness of the connection, the cost of the tool, etc.

The fastest machining speed does not mean having fewer programs. Sometimes the total time it takes to complete processing a certain spot by writing several additional toolpaths and combining them is less than the time it takes you to complete multiple passes. you need to consider the use of knives before and after. It is necessary to be clear about the characteristics of each processing method, for example, if you use the same height method for roughing, you need to lift the knife less and move faster; , and have reference line toolpaths, etc.

What customers are most happy with isn’t that the shinier the part you’re treating, the happier they’ll be. This is a misunderstanding of many people. They blindly pursue the perfection of the tool path and the shiny part, regardless of the weather. They don’t understand the structure of the mold and the purpose of the part. Every place is clean and copper is used. in all places that cannot be treated. When making sparkles, each curved surface is polished by R knife, and the tolerances are very small and the steps are very small. , it takes a long time. The most typical example is that I didn’t know where to work on the blow avoidance station. As a result, this place was beautiful, but it took a long time and the client was not happy. because these places are useless. You wasted time, you did not deliver the goods in a timely manner and you delayed the molding cycle. There are also many molds where people want to have sun rays, and what they want is a matte feel. No matter how smooth the process, the burst of sunshine will still be the same in the end. Therefore, what the customer is most satisfied with is completing their part as quickly as possible while meeting their requirements.

Practical analysis

Next, let’s take Powermill programming software as an example to summarize some practical things.

(1) Preparation work

There is one important thing to do before roughing is the positioning of the model, whether it is split in the center or on one side, whether it is zero at the top or the number at the bottom, whether it is long in the x direction or something else, etc. This must be done first. Be clear, otherwise it won’t do any good, no matter how well or quickly you do it. Of course, the materials to be processed should not be wrong. machine operators reversed the front and rear mold frames and some took the wrong materials.

To do this well, you need to communicate more with your superiors at ordinary times. If there is a situation, don’t be too busy on the phone. Think more. You also need to communicate more with the operator. and make no mistake about him. You mean, it’s best to use a marker to mark which piece of fabric it is, which direction, how to position it and count it. As for the structure of the mold, you should humbly ask the workers in the molding room for advice. You can also download information online when you have time.

(2) Open raw

Roughing is generally the first pass of the tool and its processing takes a long time, so it is very important to program it well. The most commonly used rough machining strategy is model area clearance. Things to note are:

1) Regarding the choice of cutting tools, one thing that should be pointed out is that many people don’t care, that is, if the work can be completed at the same time, it should be given Pay more attention to the cost of cutting tools. This way you create more value for the company or private owner and virtually increase your own value.

2) If the margin is too large, the next cut will be weighed down; if it is too small, it risks being overcut. In particular, you need to pay more attention to the margin of the flying knife. For example, the margin of D30R5 is 0.5mm on the side and 0.2mm on the bottom.

3) Cutting and cutting can be set to none, and cutting can be set to two. The first choice can be set to a horizontal arc and the second choice can be set to an oblique direction.

4) Avoid walking on the knife, which is done by setting a threshold.

5) The anti-choking knife, obtained by rounding the knife path, is generally set to a value greater than 0.1.

6) Check if roughing is done, especially on the edges. When it cannot be made rough, the blank should be enlarged appropriately. Sometimes, in order to improve the efficiency of rough rendering, you can even draw the boundary yourself and then create the boundary blank. . In addition to cleaning the model area, rough rendering sometimes also uses the contour, reference line processing, cleaning the contour cut area (more used when lowering the surface), cleaning of the two-dimensional curve area (less used), parallel finishing (lowering the surface) used when ) etc. There is no hard and fast rule as to where the toolpath should be used. As long as it can meet your needs and is safe and fast, you can use it flexibly. This is exactly the “pragmatic flexibility” I advocate for programming students. .

(3) Rough or medium second light

Generally, it is used to go all the way with the same height, and the medium light and two thick are done at the same time, such as the D17R0.8 knife. Among them, please pay attention to:

1) Anti-extrusion knife, obtained thanks to additional blanks;

2) To prevent stepping on the knife, simply remove the path of the knife.
