Custom CNC Machining Factory

Custom CNC Machining Factory for Precision Parts

GreatLight runs a custom CNC machining factory in Dongguan with 127 high-precision machines. Your 3D files become metal and plastic parts held to ±0.005 mm, from one prototype to 10,000+ part runs.

Common problems

When a machined part fails, it usually fails the same way

These are the losses engineers report before they move a job to a factory that machines it right the first time.

01

Do you open the box and find a bore 0.02 mm oversize?

The pin drops straight through. Assembly stops, the batch is scrap, and the schedule slips a week while someone re-machines it. On a 500-piece order that is a full run lost to a reaming pass that was never in the setup sheet.

02

Does the finish callout get ignored?

You specify Ra 0.8 μm on a sealing face and receive Ra 3.2 μm as-machined. The seal weeps under pressure test. Rework means stripping the part back to a bare surface, which costs more than the original cut.

03

Do thin walls spring during the last op?

A 0.5 mm wall on an aluminum housing looks fine on the bench and bows 0.05 mm after the fixture releases. The part passes nothing, and the cause is clamping pressure nobody documented.

04

Does the quote come back three weeks late?

You need a revised design priced by Friday. Silence from the shop means you cannot commit to your own customer, and the project drifts while a competitor quotes in two days.

How we machine it

A factory built around the features that decide whether a part passes

Capacity, inspection and DFM feedback that keep tolerances inside the callout from the first cut.

Tolerances that hold

Setup and inspection decide the result

A ±0.005 mm callout is not a machine spec. It is the outcome of how the part is fixtured, how the tool path is sequenced, and how often the operator stops to measure. We treat all three as one process.

Every job starts with a DFM review. If a wall is too thin to hold, a corner radius is smaller than the cutter can reach, or a datum is missing on the drawing, we say so before the first chip. That conversation happens within 12 hours of your upload.

One order or ten thousand

No minimum order quantity, steady process control

Most shops want either a prototype or a production run. A machining factory that does both keeps the same setup logic from the first article to the last. We run one part or 10,000+ on the same floor, so the process that made your prototype is the process that makes your production batch.

For low-volume work we use the compact travel machines: 500 × 500 × 450 mm and 500 × 310 × 200 mm. For larger parts the floor reaches 4,000 × 400 × 150 mm. A Ø400 mm rotary table handles parts that need features on several faces.

  • 3

What we make

Machining services on one floor

One supplier for the metal-cutting steps and the finishing that follows.

01

5-axis CNC machining

Complex geometry, deep cavities and multi-face features cut in a single setup to ±0.005 mm.

02

4-axis and 3-axis milling

Prismatic parts, plates and brackets. Fast cycles for simple profiles and tight bolt patterns.

FAQs

Questions engineers ask before sending a drawing

What files do you need for a quote?

A STEP or IGES file plus a 2D drawing with tolerances, material and finish callouts. If you only have a 3D model, send it anyway and we will flag the dimensions that need a callout.

PDF drawings are fine for reference. Native CAD is not required.

Can you hold ±0.005 mm on every feature?

No. That tolerance is achievable on most turned and milled features in stable materials, but it depends on wall thickness, depth-to-diameter ratio and how the part is held.

We review the drawing and tell you which features can hold ±0.005 mm and which need a different approach.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

None. We machine one prototype or 10,000+ parts on the same floor with the same inspection standard.

Prototype pricing differs from production pricing, but there is no threshold you must cross to place an order.

How fast can you ship?

Quotation and DFM analysis come back within 12 hours. Production can start within 24 hours of confirmation, and parts typically ship in 3–5 days.

Complex parts with secondary finishing take longer, and we state that in the quote rather than after the order.

Which materials do you machine most?

Aluminum 6061-T6, 7075 and 2024, stainless 303, 304, 316L and 17-4PH, plus steel alloys, brass, copper and titanium.

On the plastic side we run POM, PEEK, PC, ABS and HDPE. If you need a material not on the list, ask and we will confirm availability.

How do you handle thin walls and warping?

Thin sections are machined with light finishing passes and low clamping pressure, and we often leave a sacrificial web that is removed in a later operation.

If a wall is thinner than the process can hold, we say so during DFM review rather than shipping a part that springs after release.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. An NDA is available on request, and file uploads are kept secure and confidential.

We do not share customer drawings or part designs with third parties.

Can you provide inspection reports?

Yes, on request. Every order gets a raw material check, in-process monitoring and a final inspection before shipment.

For critical dimensions we can supply measured values rather than a simple pass or fail.
